MANDATORY USE OF THE PHRASE “TÜRKİYE” IN ALL CORRESPONDENCES AND ACTIVITIES

The Presidential Circular (“Circular”) numbered 2021/24 has been published in the Official Gazette dated 4 December 2021 and numbered 31679, encouraging the use of the phrase “Türkiye” in all correspondences activities to strengthen its brand.

The Circular emphasizes that this decision aims to preserve the values that emerge from the deep-rooted history of the Turkish nation, and that the phrase “Türkiye” represents and expresses the culture, civilisation and values of the Turkish nation in the best way, and in every field.

In this context, pursuant to the Circular issued by the President, within the scope of efforts to strengthen the “Türkiye” brand, the phrase “Türkiye” shall henceforwards be used in all kinds of activities and correspondence, especially in official relations with other states and international institutions and organizations, instead of phrases such as “Turkey”, “Turkei” and “Turquie”.

For instance, we would like to kindly draw the attention of our Clients, who are currently operating in the fields of international trade and export to the fact that the phrase “Made in Türkiye” shall now be used instead of “Made in Turkey” on products manufactured in Turkey and exported abroad.
