THE DECISION REGARDING THE INCREASE OF THE MINIMUM WAGE
We refer to our Newsletter dated 24 December 2025 regarding the minimum wage determination and its announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security for the year 2026. We would like to inform you with this additional bulletin that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission’s Decision dated 23 December 2025 and numbered 2025/1 has been published in the Official Gazette dated 26 December 2025 and numbered 33119.
In light of this, as per the Minimum Wage Determination Commission’s Decision, the minimum wage in Türkiye has been increased by 27% and implemented as of 1 January 2026.
Accordingly, the monthly-minimum wage of the employees will be gross TRY 33,030 (approximately EUR 650*) and net TRY 28,075(approximately EUR 555*) as of 1 January 2026.
Therefore, the new gross minimum monthly wage will reach TRY 33,030 (approximately EUR 650*) exclusive of certain social security premiums and unemployment contribution. Thereby, the total cost for the employer will be approximately TRY 40,874.63** (approximatelyEUR 808*) for a minimum wage employee.
* As per the exchange rate valid on 26 December 2025; EUR 1 = TRY 50.58
** Excluding the incentive to be applied at a rate of 5 points in the manufacturing sector and 2 points in other sectors, if the employer has no outstanding debts.
