THE REQUIREMENT OF WEARING MASK OUTDOORS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF “HES CODE” HAVE ENDED IN TURKEY

Following the implementation of measures, the positive developments in the pandemic process have taken place, thereby the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the Coronavirus Science Committee were discussed on 2 March 2022.

It was evaluated that the following the rearrangements under Covid-19 restrictions will be upheld:
  • It is no longer mandatory to wear masks outdoors.
  • As long as the air conditioning is efficient and individuals may conform to the social distance, it is no longer required to wear masks indoors.
  • HES code (coronavirus contact tracing system) upon entrance to institutions and organizations have been abolished.
  • As long as individuals show no symptoms, the requirement of taking a PCR test will be not sought.
  • It is no longer found necessary to close the classes in case there will be only two Covid-19 cases in schools. It is adequate for students who have positive Covid-19 test to isolate themselves. Therefore, education will be continued.

The Minister of Health also emphasized that individuals will continue to carry with them masks and must wear them in the event that social distance cannot be observed such as in public transport, cinema, theatre and planes. We therefore kindly remind you that public health guidance urging people to wear masks in crowded and indoors will remain to be implemented as before.
